It’s important to Travis GT B.V. to help our customers and visitors retain their privacy when they take advantage of all the Internet has to offer.

We believe your business is no one else’s. Your privacy is important to you… and to us. So, we’ll protect the information you share with us. To protect your privacy, Travis GT B.V. follows various principles in accordance with worldwide practices for customer privacy and data protection, such as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To that end, we promise:

  • To be transparent and fair about how we’re collecting what information;

  • To use advanced security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access;
  • And to provide you means to check, update, obtain, and remove your information with us.

Consent

We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you (personal information) or allows us to contact you. Generally, this information is requested when you arrive on the site through one of our marketing campaigns, when you download free software, enter a contest, purchase our products, sign up for email newsletters, or join a limited-access customer portal site. This is done through forms that you can fill in, and invisibly trough by setting ‘cookies’ and loading ‘tracking pixels’ that determine if you’ve interacted with us before.

If you choose not to provide personal information, you can still use most of our website(s). But you will not be able to access areas that require registration, enjoy a more personalized experience on the website, order products and services, or access customer support services that require us to identify you as a customer.

Purpose

We use your information for six primary purposes:

  • To help you better find products, software, services, or information on our website;
  • To make our services easier to use by not having to enter information such as preferences and product choices more than once;
  • To help us create content most relevant to you by understanding what you’re interested in;
  • To keep you appraised of your order status, such as production and shipping updates;
  • To alert you to product and software updates, special offers, and other news from our company and our community;
  • And for us to recognize you as a friend on social media or from our newsletters.

Choice and access

If you decide to consent, you will be able to select the kinds of information you want to receive from us by subscribing to various services, like our email newsletters. We won’t keep your information longer than necessary for the purposes mentioned, and delete it promptly, should you decide to withdraw consent for us to communicate with you.

We will provide you with the means to ensure that your personal information is correct and current. You may review and update this information at any time by editing your profile in the online portal, and/or communication preferences through the links underneath each communique we send you. There, you can:

We use three types of cookies, namely functional cookies, analytical cookies, and tracking cookies. However, we will only use the tracking cookies with your consent.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are cookies that are essential for the functioning of the Service. Without these cookies, the website(s) would be unable to function properly. This means that these cookies cannot be turned off. There is a difference between session functional cookies and permanent functional cookies. The session cookies are deleted after you have left the website(s). The permanent cookies are saved to prevent you from having to perform the same actions over and over again. An example of the use of permanent cookies are purchases which you have saved in your cart on a shopping website. We do not share the information obtained with these cookies with third parties.

Analytical cookies

Analytical cookies are cookies which are needed for the continued good functioning of the website(s). We use them to understand what people visit us, how long it takes before a page has been loaded and what buttons are pressed by people visiting the website(s). Some analytical cookies may be placed without your consent, because they anonymize any information collected about you.

For example, we use Google Analytics for our analytical services. Google Analytics places a permanent cookie in order to identify your browser. By doing this, your data is shared with Google. We only share data with Google that we are allowed to share with Google according to the GDPR. We use this information combined with other data from other users. Due to this, we are unable to identify you as an individual. We have not given Google permission to share your data with third parties. However, Google can be legally obliged to share your data with third parties. The information which is obtained by Google is anonymized as much as possible. The information is transported and saved on servers in the United States. Google complies with the Privacy Principles and is a member of the Privacy Shield-program from the American Ministry of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection for the procession of your personal data.

We also use Hotjar for our analytical services. Hotjar records your behavior on our website in an anonymized form and combines that with the visits of many, many others to compile insights on how our visitors use the website(s). This allows us to continue improving our website, and creating a better, easier experience.

Tracking/social and remarketing cookies

Tracking pixels are tiny pieces of code from third-parties that check and/or put cookies that allows us to adapt our website(s) and other communications’ content to your interests and preferences, or to advertise on third-party websites and social media after you have visited our website(s). Additionally, tracking pixels allow us to understand which advertisements are of interest to you, so that you will only see relevant content, and whether we’ve been in contact before on other platforms such as social media or our newsletters.

Some of these tracking codes are from social media like Facebook and LinkedIn. We cannot influence exactly how they put cookies, but we encourage you to read the respective social network’s privacy policy to see how these companies treat your (personal) data, and please beware that these policies are open to change. The information which is obtained by these social networks is anonymized as much as possible. Companies like LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Google comply with the Privacy Shield Principles and are a member of the Privacy Shield-program from the American Ministry of Commerce. This means that there is an appropriate level of protection as described in the GDPR.

Unforeseen (embedded content) cookies

We are constantly trying to keep a good overview on the cookies on our Service. However, it is possible that third parties place cookies through embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Customer profiles

When you register with us, you provide us with your contact information, including your name and email address.  Every registered customer has a unique personal profile. Each profile is assigned a unique personal identification number, which helps us ensure that only you can access your profile. When you register through any of our customer portals and/or sales channels, this information is processed by us to create your profile and assign a personal identification number.

Electronic Product Registration

When you buy and use a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. When you do, we merge your registration information with any information you’ve already left with us (we call that information your personal profile). If you haven’t previously registered with us, we create a personal profile for you from your product registration information. If you ever want to review or update that information, you can visit the relevant customer portal and edit any of the Personal Information in your profile. If you haven’t already created a Registration ID, we will ask you to do so. This ensures that only you can access your information.

What we do with your customer profile

We use your personal information to send you updates about your order, questionnaires to measure your satisfaction with our service and announcements about new and exciting services that we offer. When you order from us, your transaction is made through a third-party such as a crowdfunding website or payment portal. We might ask for your credit card number and billing address. We use this information only to bill you for the product(s) you order at that time. For your convenience, some crowdfunding websites and/or payment portals save billing information in case you want to order from us again, but we don’t use this information again without your permission.

We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, shipping, and delivering purchases, answering customer questions about products or services, sending email and processing event registration. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

Travis GT B.V. will disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Travis GT B.V. or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Travis G.T.B.V. and its subsidiaries, and, (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Travis GT B.V., our website(s), or in the interest of public health and/or safety.

We take strong precautions to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. As far as your information is processed through third-parties, we are committed to ensuring they do so under solid privacy and security practices.

Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your permission, except under conditions explained above. Inside the company, data is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. Your information may be stored and processed in The Netherlands or any other country where Travis GT B.V., its subsidiaries, affiliates, or agents are located.

You also have a significant role in protecting your information. No one can see or edit your personal information without knowing your user name and password, so do not share these with others. Change your password regularly and use unique, long passphrases that are hard to guess for each account.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event that, despite our best efforts, a data breach occurs, we shall evaluate the scope of such a breach immediately and, if required to, promptly report such a breach with relevant authorities. We’ll also notify everyone affected by the breach and provide information on how to minimize the impact.
